One World 2087
A one-night journey to the year 2087 that ended with an elevator ride to space. A special project with One World Immersive.
About the project
One World 2087 was an immersive theater experience about a hopeful future. Guests traveled to the year 2087, met ambassadors from the future, and ended the night with an elevator ride to space, built to give them the Overview Effect: what astronauts feel when they see the whole Earth at once.
It debuted as a sold-out, one-night show in Denver. More than 40 artists, designers, fabricators, and performers turned the venue into a garden spaceport, and the elevator made more than 100 trips for over 400 guests.
We made it with One World Immersive, founded by Chris Clavio. Chris is a new media artist and creative director who spent five years helping build Meow Wolf from a Santa Fe art collective into an immersive entertainment company. He oversaw the development and delivery of three of its locations.
“It was so beautiful to see the world below. It made you feel so small.”Melanie Y., a guest
How we built it
Cam and Chris started collaborating to learn how immersive attractions get made. Chris had been developing an elevator ride to space, small enough to build right away, so we built it together.

A tabletop model
One weekend in Denver: a 1:12 model with screens for windows, lights, sound, and a rumbling floor.

A VR version
The ride rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. A former astronaut called it “pretty damn close.”

A full-size ride
Six weeks, a Denver crew, and a four-person ride vehicle with its own show control and soundtrack.

Opening night
One sold-out night with Invisible City, then an extra week so more people could ride.
